Many Subjects, One Post

I lent my camera to Steve and I haven't gotten it back yet, but tonight Max let me use his camera so now I can make a post the way I want to. And I have several bits of nothing that I would like to share with the world, or at least the 10 or so of you that read this. Let's get to it then.

1) Lucy On My Fridge In Magnets

That title should be sung to the tune of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", so go ahead and do that right now.
Good job!
So here is the story. At Christmas, my sister sent us a densely packed box full of small yet good gifts, and one of the gifts was a set of 5 "I Love Lucy" magnets. I lined them up along the top of the door to my refrigerator, and for about a month they formed a sort of Lucy Mount Rushmore:

Then one day I noticed that Max had made a modification to one of the Lucys:

That is a drawing of the Arby's hat above Lucy's head. So then every time we walked by the fridge we would say "Lucy's thinking Arby's!", and that was funny for a while. Then last week Max expanded on the theme again:

See what happens to Lucy when she thinks Meth! Let poor Lucy be a lesson to all of us.

2) Grace And Her Toes

Our cat Grace is a scratcher. Her scratching material of choice is wood. More specifically, my furniture. This has become more problematic lately, to the point that Something Needed To Be Done. I toyed with the idea of getting her declawed, but I think that would be a rude and painful shock to a six year old cat. I heard of this spray that could be used to keep her away from the furniture, but that solution really seemed like more of a pain in the butt than anything, because you had to spray everything down regularly. Then I found
these. I ordered them and we put them on Grace with very little trouble. Now, not only can she not scratch the furniture, she has orange toenails!

Grace says Hi and also Up Yours!

3) News You Cannot Live Without

I know you all have been keeping yourself up nights with the burning question, "What has Karla been knitting?". Well, I won't keep you in the dark any longer. I am knitting a purse out of nylon cording. I am about 80% done with one side of it. I think it will be cute when it's done.

I feel so much better now that I have gotten all this stuff off my chest. I really need to get my camera back from Steve.

We tried to put those soft paws on The Rat a few years ago, and while they weren't hard to get on, she hated them so much she chewed them all off within a week. There's not a good cat among our bunch!
